Yes, we are open and operating pretty much as normal!
Obviously, the world, Adelaide and your local supermarket is a bit of a crazy place at the moment with the COVID-19 Pandemic and the measures now in place to combat it.
Here at Laughing Dog Day care we continue to look after your precious fur babies with the utmost care, responsibility and love.
Yes, we have reviewed and altered some of our practices due to the current recommendations, but cleanliness and sanitation have always been a top priority for us anyway. Our normal cleaning and disinfection routine comprises of constant cleaning during the day with hospital strength commercial disinfectants. Each night the complete facility is given a thorough clean and disinfected with heavy duty gear, and then each weekend we have a commercial cleaner come in and clean, disinfect and sanitise the complete facility.
Of course, we want your dogs and our people to be germ free, safe and healthy all of the time, but even more so now.
Currently we have increased the cleaning and disinfecting of our customer/reception area. Including constant attention to door handles and EFTPOS machine and also the lead hooks in the leasing area. As most of you would be aware there is NO access for customers to the play areas or dogs during the day, all viewing is done by safe social distancing TV screens in reception!
Also, in these times if you would prefer not to come in yourself, not a problem just pull up in front, call or text and a staff member can come out and bring your pup in from your car (please make sure the lead is on!) We can bring out the EFTPOS machine if you need to make a payment, or you can call us with your card details if you prefer.
We are a small business and depend on each and every one of our customers to keep us going and being able to keep our staff employed. Currently we have 5 young passionate people working for us.
We are committed to keeping things local and supporting the community, by supporting other South Australian small business, manufacturers and suppliers. Normally (although in the current climate this has been put on hold for now) we host Adelaide University Veterinary and Animal Science Students with placements and work experience for school students as well as supporting local charities and events.
Even in these difficult times we feel that the best thing for both people and pups is to try, where possible keep things as normal as they can. Its not a problem for dogs to have social interaction (our veterinarian has confirmed there is no likelihood of transmission between people and dogs) so lets keep the fun and good times happening. Even if you are working at home, please consider still giving you dog a day out with a visit to us, its good for everyone’s mind (the cute pictures you get during the day will help the work day go faster) and body, and much safer than mixing with unknown people at a dog park!
Have a Pawsome Day,
